How Does the Ram Extrusion Take Place?
Ram extrusion is a process that enables the consistent processing and production of Polytetrafluoroethylene. The PTFE powder is the basic material, which is passed through an extrusion pipe of cylindrical shape. A ram is then used to compress the powder while it's being transited through the pipe. The compressed powder is then heated up at a specific temperature that helps in making it compact.
We use the ram extruder, a unique unit that's either oriented vertically or horizontally. Such orientation is pointed in the direction in which the ram moves.
