Where We Started: Miraj, 1979

Hindustan Nylons was established in 1979 in Miraj — a city in Sangli district, Maharashtra, located on the banks of the Agrani river. The founding vision was simple but ambitious: to manufacture high-quality PTFE semi-finished and finished products that could serve India's growing industrial sector, which at the time depended almost entirely on imported PTFE from European manufacturers.

The early years were defined by learning the demanding craft of PTFE processing — mastering the hydraulic pressing, sintering, and machining techniques that transform raw PTFE powder into precision engineering components. PTFE does not behave like any other plastic; it cannot be injection moulded or conventionally extruded, and every process parameter — powder density, pressing pressure, sintering temperature profile, cooling rate — affects the final product's properties in ways that only experience teaches.

Quality at Hindustan Nylons is not a department — it is built into every step of the production process. Our Quality Management System, certified to ISO 9001:2015, covers the entire production chain from raw material receipt to final inspection and dispatch. Every batch of PTFE resin is checked for density and compliance before use. Every production batch is traced from resin lot to finished product. Every dispatch is accompanied by a Material Test Certificate linking the product to its manufacturing records.

We believe quality is best demonstrated by long customer relationships — and many of our customers have been placing repeat orders with us for 10, 15, and 20+ years. In the PTFE industry, where product failure can mean a chemical plant shutdown or a structural bearing failure in a bridge, there is no substitute for that kind of demonstrated, long-term reliability.
